It is my distinct honor and pleasure to invite you to the 12th Congress of the Croatian Society of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine with international participation.
The national congress of the Croatian Society of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine is the most important scientific and professional event in the field of medical biochemistry and laboratory medicine in Croatia, which traditionally brings together professionals in medical biochemistry and laboratory medicine, but also scientists and professionals from other medical fields.
The aim of this congress is to present advancements in the field of medical biochemistry and laboratory medicine through a multidisciplinary scientific and professional program, lectures by renowned domestic and foreign lecturers from various fields of the laboratory profession, poster presentations, industrial workshops and a rich industrial exhibition. Such concept enables interactive participation and will undoubtly encourage fruitful discussions and thought-provoking ideas that will eventually lead to improvements of the medical-biochemistry profession.
Given the rapid development of the profession, diagnostic, therapeutic and technological advances which we all evidence in our everyday work, I am very confident that each and everyone of us has something to present on this congress. Therefore, I encourage you to submit the results of your professional and scientific work in the form of poster abstracts and in that way be an active participant of the congress.
This congress is a unique opportunity for exchange of the latest professional and scientific achievements and experiences, and such direct contact outside the usual laboratory environment can be truly inspiring and facilitates networking with colleagues as well as establishment of new collaborations that can lead to scientific and professional progress. I strongly believe that every congress participant will benefit from it and will gain new knowledges that will improve your everyday laboratory work, but I also hope that this congress will encourage you to engage into scientific research.

Dear colleagues, participants, and distinguished guests,
it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 12th Congress of the Croatian Society of Medical Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine, taking place in Srebreno, Croatia, 15-18 October 2026.
The scientific program has been carefully designed to reflect current trends and challenges in laboratory medicine, with a particular focus on the application of modern technologies in clinical practice. The pre-congress symposium dedicated to artificial intelligence highlights its growing role in data analysis, result interpretation, and clinical decision support.
Throughout the congress, a wide range of topics will be addressed, including life-threatening bleeding and hemostasis, therapeutic drug monitoring, allergic diseases and sports medicine. Special attention is given to translational research in genetics and epigenetics, as well as to the development and clinical application of novel biomarkers, including miRNA in oncology—emphasizing the shift toward personalized medicine.
The program is further enriched by plenary lectures from distinguished national and international experts, as well as oral presentations showcasing the diversity and quality of scientific work in our field.
We believe this congress will provide an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the generation of new ideas that will further advance our profession.
